Client Focused Care

As a birth doula based in Philadelphia, my mission is to support you in whatever kind of care and birth you desire. I’m here to answer any questions you might have about pregnancy birth, and postpartum, and to help you come to make decisions that are in line with your values.

I currently live in Fishtown, Philadelphia and grew up just outside of the city.

I became passionate about birth years before I was thing about becoming pregnant. A friend of mine showed me a video of a mother having a beautiful home birth surrounded by her children, and I was enchanted by this.

My fertility journey was not an easy one. It took some time, an endometriosis diagnosis and surgery to remove it in order to get pregnant. I was planning for a home birth, like the one I watched years before, but sadly my first baby was born in the hospital prematurely and didn’t live very long.

In 2022, I became pregnant with my rainbow baby, and she was born, healthy, full term, at home, just the way I envisioned.

I believe that my experience gives me a unique perspective on the wide range of what birth can look like. It can be traumatic, and beautiful, scary and empowering. I believe that you should be able to have whatever kind of birth you want and should be able to use or deny the different tools and medicine available according to your values. Most importantly, I believe that having people around you that you trust during your pregnancy and birth helps to have the best outcomes possible.

My beliefs about birth

I believe that birth is truly unique and individual to the birthing person. It should be tailored to who you are, and how you want to birth. Each birth looks so different, and I believe that difference should be embraced. Whether you are choosing a planned c section, an epidural in the hospital or a home birth, your birth is just as important as the next. I want you to have the information you need to make choices that you will look back with confidence. You deserve to have all of the information to make the decisions that feel the best for you and your family. Everyone should be able to raise their children the way they want to, and that starts with pregnancy and birth. The decisions you get to make early on in pregnancy and birth are the first couple of parenting decisions that you get to make. These decisions should be held with the highest respect.
